Q: When should I contact Jordan
Builders Custom Homes to begin the planning process? A: As soon as you
know that you are going to build a custom home, preferably before you purchase
your land. It is best to come to us with a basic concept of style and floorplan
that you like. We will help you to think through how the spaces in the
floorplan can be maximized for your living style. We will help you visualize
the finished home and how you will live in it. By coming to us early in the
process, you will be assured not to waste time and money designing a home that
is outside of your budget or simply won't fit on your lot. One of our first
meetings will include a trip to your lot to assess it.
Q: Do I need
to own a lot, land or property before I contact you?
A: Absolutely not! We have skilled staff waiting to help
you get started. They can provide tips on what to look for and how to get the
most for your money. Please feel free to call or visit us at our office, at any
time to discuss ideas for your new home.
Q: How do your prices compare to other Builders?
A: This is a common question. We are very competitive in our pricing,
especially when compared to other Builders in our class. We keep all of your
money in your home, not in expensive marketing materials. Being a family-owned
business, everyone in the family contributes to the business. This also keeps
our costs down and our prices very competitive.
Q: Is the lowest
price my most important concern? A: Remember the old adage - "You get
what you pay for". This is easier to determine when you are buying a product
that is already produced and you are able to "see" what you are buying.
Quality, features and total customer satisfaction will be reflected in the
price you are paying. If a builders price comes in lower than another, be sure
that the features you desire and the types of materials the builder will be
using are written in the contract. Don't assume anything - make
sure everything is specifically written down and included in the
contract.
Q: Is there a home too small for Jordan Builders or a
project too small? A: No, we will consider any and every job our
privilege to perform. In our initial meeting, we will discuss the project and
your wants and wishes and will tailor design a home that fits your lifestyle
and budget.
Q: What is "Built on Your Lot" construction? A:
The concept is simple. Use a lot you already own, or pick the exact lot, land
or property that you want to live on, select a plan or we can design one for
you, and get a great house built right where you want to live!
Q:
Will I need to purchase home plans?
A: There are several major advantages to building your new
home with us. One important difference is home plans. Many other builders
require that you purchase home plans before they will even begin to work with
you. We design your house plans with you customizing the perfect home for you
and your family. We can take a sketch done with pencil or you can show us an
idea you have seen and we can build it.
Q: Does Jordan Builders
provide written estimates?
A: From our custom plan (see the question above) we can
develop a "rough estimate" of costs for your new home. This process usually
only takes a couple of days. We can provide a basic estimate for any plan along
with any available changes, options and upgrades you select for the house. Once
your property is located, it can be included in the estimate along with any
other amenities (septic, water, electric, etc) to give you a final
price.
Q: How much of a deposit is required when I sign a contract to
build a custom home? A: A minimal deposit is normally all that is
required to begin the home of your dreams. For more information, simply stop by
our office and let one of our Sales Associates provide all the details.
Q: Can I personalize my custom built home? A: Yes, you sure
can. First, you select the exact plan to meet your family's needs. Next, choose
the elevation (exterior look) that appeals to you most. Then you have the
opportunity to select brick, paint, floor coverings, roof color, and
appliances. In addition, we offer upgrades and options so that you can further
personalize your home to suit your tastes. You get the home you always wanted.
Q: Can I count land equity towards my mortgage down payment?
A: Yes. In fact many property owners have enough land
equity that they do not need any cash funds at all for a mortgage down payment.
Q: Can my well and septic system costs be included in my
mortgage?
A: Many times they can be included. Visit with a Sales
Associate to see if your well and septic costs, lot pay off amount, certain
other improvements or your closing costs can be included in your mortgage.
